About P&O Cruises
P&O Cruises is a trusted British cruise line offering holidays to the world’s must-see destinations, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, City Breaks and more. In the UK, P&O Cruises is known for over 175 years. Since 2015, the cruise line trys to establish itself on the German market. Guests appreciate the traditional cruise experience with an English atmosphere on board. But in order to enjoy the journey on board of a P&O Cruise, a basic knowledge of English is recommanded. The MS Azura, MS Aurora, MS Oceana, MS Ventura and MS Britannia are family-friendly ships. However, on the MS Arcadia, the MS Adonia and the MS Oriana, children are not allowed. Booking is only possible for guests, who are 18 years or older. The currency on board of every P&O vessels are British Pound.
A family-friendly, midsized ship
The “Aurora” offers space for up to 1874 passengers. She was christened by Princess Anne, daughter of Queen Elizabeth, in 2000. The ship’s trademark is the elegantly staged stern which makes her easy to be identified. The “Aurora” is a classic cruise-liner and is ideally suited for grand voyages around the globe.
Atmosphere on Board / Children
As the Aurora is a family-friendly ship several activities for children are on offer. There are special clubs for kids of different age groups and also a playing area for children under 2 years. Even in the evenings a large variety of entertainment is provided – again tailored for the different age groups.
All staterooms are equipped with TV, fridge, tea- and coffee-making facilities and other amenities. Interior and exterior staterooms have a size of 12-16m². Deluxe balcony cabins measure 22-23m² including the balcony, while the Suites offer 40-68m² including the balcony.
Food and Beverages
During the cruise all meals in the main- and buffet-restaurants, snacks, room-service and afternoon-tea are included. In the buffet-restaurants coffee, tea, water and juices are free. The daily changing multi-course meals in the main restaurants are based on modern British cuisine.
In the evening the guests enjoy spectacular shows and superb comedy acts. Furthermore travellers may listen to live music or try their luck in the casino.
Sport and Relaxation
For your relaxation the “Aurora” provides sauna, whirlpool, steam-bath and a fitness-room. For an additional fee guests can also unwind in the exclusive Spa or take part in fitness courses with professional coaches.
Apparel / Dress-Code
There are different dress-codes on different evenings. On every cruise all of the following dress-codes will be applied at least once: – Evening Casual: relaxed atmosphere in sportive-casual apparel – Smart & Jacket: smart casual dress-code for a more dignified atmosphere – Festive Glamour: especially elegant evenings on board; smoking or dark suit with tie for gentlemen and evening gown for the ladies are expected (for gentleman a “black tie rental” is available on board)
British traditions are honoured on all P&O cruise ships. Currency on board is British Pounds. Language on board is English only – other languages cannot be expected, not for menu-cards nor from the personnel. Good English proficiency is therefore highly recommended.
