About Royal Caribbean International
Royal Caribbean International is a brand with an incredible history and unlimited potential. The cruise line not only sets new standards by the size of the ships, but also by its degree of innovation. Especially the entertainment programm on their vessels is a new invention. The ships are convincing due to a variety of sport offers and leisure activities for every age group. Particularly the outdoor area offers great experiences with ice rinks or zip lines. However not only the big vessels, but also the smaller ones offer plenty options to have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. In the different restaurants you expect tasty dishes combined with an attentive service. On board, all age groups feel at home. Due to the company’s heritage a basic knowledge in English is recommended. Another thing to take into considerations is that the additional costs are higher than on German ships.
In December 2009 MS Oasis of the Seas entered service. With up to 5400 passengers it is one of the biggest cruise liners in the world. It mainly cruises through the Caribbean. The ship is separated into seven different areas, so called “Neighborhoods”, where you can find a huge range of entertainment, dining and wellness offers. The Oasis is a mixture between a swimming city and an amusement park with its “Central Park” where more than 12000 real plants grow, the “Royal Promenade” which design is based on an English seaside resort, the restaurants, cafés etc.
Atmosphere on Board
MS Oasis of the Seas offers something for all age groups. There are many different, international guests on board. The atmosphere is easy relaxed and the service is friendly and very professional. On some evenings, formal attire is expected in the main dining room.
All cabins are very spacious, modern and comfortably fitted and are furnished with a TV, telephone, bathroom with shower and hair dryer. All cabins have got two separate beds which can be converted to one double bed. Even the smallest cabins on board (about 13.8 sqm) are quite spacious. You can book outside and balcony cabins with Boardwalk view, Central Park view or the “traditional” sea view. Additionally, there are luxurious suites over two decks with their own Jacuzzi.
There are 20 restaurants, cafés and bars on board Oasis of the Seas – you can find something for everyone, from pizza to sushi, ice cream, donuts, the Solarium Bistro or the Steak House. If you want to enjoy a really special evening we recommend you the 150 Central Park restaurant, a high-end restaurant inspired by award-winning chef Keriann von Raesfeld. There is a cover charge for all specialty restaurants. Also, all services are, as usual on American vessels, subject to a service fee.
No matter what you like best, all souls on board can find their favorite place. There are Broadway-style shows, a comedy club, ice revues, acrobatic shows in the Aqua Theatre or you can gamble at the Casino Royale. You can dance the night away at “Blaze” or “Jazz on 4”. At the elegant “Dazzles” you can get dance classes during the day and enjoy theme parties and dancing contests. They play everything from 40s Swing to modern pop music. At “The On Air Club” it is up to you – sing Karaoke or produce your own music videos.
On board Oasis of the Seas children and teenagers have got their own areas where they can play and get to know other children. At the day-care centre the staff takes care of children at the age from 6 months.
For teenagers there is a separate area with sports facilities, a disco and much more.
Sports and Wellness
Deck 15 is dedicated to sports activities. Here you can find different swimming pools and Jacuzzis, the H2O-Zone for children, a solarium, playing fields for basketball and volleyball, a climbing wall, miniature golf, two surfing simulators, a jogging track and a zip-line where you can swing on a line over the ship.
On board Oasis of the Seas there is a huge fitness area and one of the largest spas on board of a cruise liner. Almost everything is offered – from massages and beauty treatments to Botox injections.
No other cruise ship has got so many possibilties for all ages. That makes the Oasis of the Seas to the destination itself – the ports of call become a minor matter. The service on board is good and highly professional. The cuisine is delicious. The main on board language is English.
